I don't know about the case but if you take the barrel off the case wouldn't look like it has a gun in it.

Can't you ship a firearm via Fed-Ex or UPS?

How about you take it to a FFL dealer (aka gun store) and have it shipped to a gun store where you are going?

I'm thinking you don't want to walk into an airport with what would definitely appear to be a long gun in a case. The TSA anal exam is just awful.

Google or Yahoo search TSA approved rifle cases;you have no problems shipping a rifle as checked baggage, just be aware you DO have to let the airline know you will be checking one in. Best to have ammo in a separate container;and yes a trigger lock is a sound investment too. Don't over-think this.

There is no reason in h*** to remove the bolt from a firearm If you don't want it to be able to be shot, put a trigger lock on it. Then number of people that have a perfectly good firearm except for a missing firing pin or bolt or some other impossible to find part is hilarious.

It has to be a locked hard sided case. Since you gun does not break down, you will have to use a case that screams "gun inside." There are plastic cases that will work. If you can, remove the bolt and stick that in your checked baggage. If the gun is stolen the thief will have to buy a bolt.
