I wanted to get a GOOD, CHEAP pistol to pair with the del ton AR I ordered today for varmints/small stuff/messing around/truck gun. My local gun shop has these three models.

Both Hi-Points are $180 and OD green.
The Comanche is $200.
The S&W Mod 64 is stainless and a police trade in (all look good besides holster wear) $320
S&W model 10 is blued and also is a police trade in $280

Basically, which one will give the best accuracy+range and fun

none of these are crap guns so dont say they are just because they are cheap and ugly i know guys with ALL of these (besides 64) and they love them

I would only buy a used pistol if it looked lightly used. The S&W revolvers are the best made of those you list but being police trade in's they were probably ridden hard and put away wet. Llama pistols are junk and so are hi points so keep looking or raise your standards and save your money.

Oh sorry but they are crap guns not because they're cheap but because they're poorly made or used and abused.

Get a 22 semi auto new for $300 and plink to your heart's content.

You asked the question and I'm just giving an honest answer so hate if you must but not because you can't take the truth.

If you have to ask us which one to buy - then you dont know eough to make an informed decision that 'not everything has to be expensive to be good'.

People who buy a used car and try to do a road trip across the USA - end up learning where all the repair garages are. People who buy a new car - have a wonderful trip and summer.

First - unless you have a pistol expert with you - buying an old police trade in is just scary stupid. I was called to a local store that had just received 18 Baretta from Baretta that had been refurbished at the factory from the Illinois State Police. Factory refurbushed. Of the 18 pistols - 6 were very nice, 8 were sloppy, and 4 had issues with the trigger. They sent the 12 with issues back, and Baretta sent them 12 more that were nice. And you are considering buying police trade in just based on price????

HiPoint - too heavy. Horrible trigger. Hard to conceal. Galco hoslter costs more than the pistol. People talk behind your back about how cheap and stupid you are for owning one. Enough said.

My advice. Get out of the pawn shop. New shooters should buy nice new pistols that come with a manual and warranty.

I'd suggest you listen to Frank Joe. You might luck out and get a fantastic Hi-Point, but then again you might get one that's a piece of junk.

Get one of the S&W revolvers. .38 Special is a good target round- it's got a reputation for being quite accurate, and it would do much better than the Hi-Point. As for the Comanche, I wouldn't bother. .45 Colt is a great round, but you should expect to pay more for a good .45 Colt... and the combo .410/45 guns that are out there aren't as impressive as you'd think.

The model 64 if its got a good bore/crown and locks up pretty well. Honestly tho, try shoping around other gun shops in your area if you can. None of those are "crap" guns but I could think of many other firearma better suited for your purposes.

If I were you, sounds like a good used .357 revolver is up your alley, can use .38s as well as more powerful .357 magnums. Versatility, power, accuracy, utter dependability, can all be had with .357 revolvers.

You got me my friend, if you laid those in front of me and I only get one, I would freeze and stare and drool for about an hour than cry I only get one. If forced to pick, I gotta go with the Comanche, I have a 44 russian model from long ago.

One of the S&W revolvers (you'll need to have a gunsmith check it, too, to be safe) or check back there and see if they have Ruger P-series trade-ins. It's the classic beater pistol.

either of the SW revolvers is a better value. They will always be worth at least what you paid for them.

SW 10's are getting harder to find every year... even the beater ones.

The most useful of those, is the super comanche. You can bird hunt with that beast

If you think all of those are such great guns then why don't you just get the Hi Point in .40sw.
