Go with what you feel more comfortable with. If you feel safer with the one that's $299, go with that one. If you feel safer with the other one, go with it.

btw- ya ain't fat.

Go with the Goliath. My reasoning for this is that you also have to figure your gear that you may have with you. Since you are 284 lbs your only 16 pounds away from meeting the Viper SS stands recommend weight capacity.

It is better to be safe than sorry.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Goliath stands.

Might as well get the goliath and give yourself a little more of a safety factor. Don't forget the safety strap..make sure it's rated for more than your weight. I know of one man who didn't use one...yup ended up falling out of the tree while bow hunting and was in the hospital with a broken back, arm and recovering from the arrow would through the leg.

BE SAFE..above all.

you have have been given the suitable thought. i've got used each and every stand usual to mankind in my lifetime and that i've got settled on the two piece climber by way of fact the suitable device on the industry. All have their stable factors however the climber is particularly transportable and provide the greater beneficial inventive and prescient to confirm down into the comb and interior the encompassing woods due on your capacity to climb greater if needed.you additionally can scout new places with the stand on your back, and once you come back for the time of something crimson warm, you in simple terms p.c.. out your tree and climb it. that's the optimal contributing element to being a helpful bow hunter which you would be able to get. I quite advise the Summit Viper or between the climbers from API outdoors. the two would be great for gun searching, yet I even have the two and for bow searching I desire the Summit Viper. I would desire to stand as much as shoot with the API, yet can shoot sitting down with the Summit. the fewer circulate you're making while bow searching the greater helpful hazard of not spooking the deer while they may be 10 steps out of your tree. stable success on your searching season!

I have seen many people fall with climbers because they did not lock it in correctly and attach safety strap. A ladder stand is faster and is secure when you lock it down unless you are afraid of theft.

Look at Cabela's too. If you go with a climber make sure its wide enough for you. Most of them are tiny small and narrow.

Look into the Tree Lounge. They hold onto a tree better than anything I have ever seen.

Go with witch ever one feels right for you. 20$ ether way is not going to make a difference if you don't feel safe and comfortable.
