I have shot the PPSh-41, the Thompson, and the Sten (well, actually it was a Sterling). For a recreational gun, they are all fun, the Thompson has more historical value to an American, the PPSh-41 killed more Nazis than any of the guns on that list so that makes it very cool, and the Sten is uniquely British and quirky but effective. I would love to have any one of them in my personal collection.

If I had to choose one to fight with it would be the PPSh-41.

I prefer the Thompson or the MP-40. While the 7.62x25mm is a great round, and I would love a Tokarev pistol, I don't put a lot of faith in drum magazines. I know, the Thompson uses drums too, but they also use stick mags too. The Sten is a good gun for what it is, a cheap subgun to arm large quantities of soldiers and partisans. Plus, the placement of the mag is counter to every other gun you probably have ever seen or used. Besides, I grew up reading Sgt. Rock comics, and I like the old gangster movies. If I were armed with one, my battle cry would have to be "It's curtains, Rocco!"

I fired a Sten once, about 10 years ago. I thought I would start off with a safe, simple 3-4 round burst so I squeezed the trigger, then released it after those first few rounds. The weapon however continued to fire after I released the trigger until the magazine was empty. I handed it back to its owner and said "thanks but I'm done".

mp40 for me.I like thompson and ppsh 41,but mp40 was more handle than them.Very less recoil, bigger accuracy and range,2 more bullets in magazine

The Thompson M1A1. Its a piece of American history and I want one! Although the MP40 would be my second choice.

Im American, give me the Tommy gun!And a couple drum mags with about 40,000 rounds of .45 acp.

I have not owned any full auto due to them costing more than a brand new mustang,I have not fired one yet due to me living in Sc,not many full auto shoot outs or ranges that rent full autos around,I have not seen one in person due to the same reason.

I do want to go to a full auto shoot out,I think they do them over in Tennessee

As designs go, they are all kinda dated designs. If i had to choose one of the era, I'd try the Sterling.
