is it ok to use 12 gram bbs?

I just recenly bought a famas f1 CYBERGUN foreigh legion aeg airsoft gun and it says 466 fps with 12 gram bbs but then 20 gram bbs is like 360.like whats the difference.Why does it make my gun less more powerfull and which bb should i use and is it okay if i shot already 2000 .12 gram bbs is that like way to much or thats fine but dont do it anymore and will that hurt my gun.

If you're intending to hunt deer, .12 gram plastic BBs will not be appropriate. Deer are best hunted with a 95-grain or heavier .243 Winchester, or something more powerful. A FAMAS is not really a good choice for deer hunting, either- it uses 5.56x45mm NATO, which is not appropriate for hunting deer.



About the only thing .12 gram plastic BBs are useful for is shooting bugs in your backyard.



Please do not hunt any game animal with those. It's cruel.

The .20 gram is heavier that's why it's slower, but it is also more accurate and hits harder. The .12 gram won't hurt your gun, but recommend to stay with the .20's. Use a good quality bb like Golden Ball or TSD competition grade.

Airsoft BB’s: When buying airsoft BB’s be a aware. Wal-Mart BB’s (Crossman, Cyber gun, etc) are cheap grade and have Seams which will over time destroy your barrel. Also stay away from .12 gram BB’s as these are so light they will also destroy your airsoft gun.
