Well, ....... actually I'm one of the, 'old timers'; it's just that you wouldn't guess it by the name that I'm presently using. I don't know, 'Why' anyone would be nostalgic, though?
Giving credit where credit is due I'll agree that many of the names in the top 'Best Answers' group are the same good people that I remember; but, at the same time, I also remember that there was an excessive amount of nasty infighting always going on; and, quite frankly, I give Yahoo Answers a lot of credit for changing things around and cleaning a large majority of it up.
Yes, I can tell that the present crowd is a lot — a lot — younger; but, as a whole, I'd say that everybody is also better behaved now than before. Some of the questions (and, surprisingly, some of the best answers) are kind 'a basic, maybe even a little bit stupid, or even just plain incorrect; but, overall, this is a better Yahoo Answers Hunting Section than the one I remember.
(Some of the petty infighting was just unbelievable; and I'll admit that I got tired of all of it, and left for a number of years.)
The only thing I still dislike about the Hunting Section is that it's apparently wide open to anyone who wants to take: cheap shots, and make provocative or troublemaking remarks against all those who, in fact, do like guns and hunting. Moreover, these smart alecks come to the Hunting Section — NOT to ask legitimate questions, but — in order to attempt to embarrass other people and/or to make trouble.
I'm sure everybody knows what I mean: Questions like: 'Would you feel bad if you shot Bambi's mother?' 'Does owning a gun make you feel more like a man?' or, 'Would America be a safer country if nobody owned a gun?' Leading, provocative, Hillary Clinton type questions like these.
