FIE model 15 cylinders will fit your gun and cost about $60 plus shipping from Numrich, when it is in stock. Other than that Gunbroker or a lucky gun show find, maybe.

As far as decocking, the only real danger is if your thumb slips off the hammer and the gun is not pointed in a safe direction.

Fanning gives you no accuracy and is very hard on the working parts of the gun.

Your gun hasn't been imported for many years and parts are very hard to find. Causing undo wear for a cutesy little gimmick doesn't make sense

Any $50 cylinder you find may- or may not " drop in" and work correctly

Getting the star and hand to carry the cylinder up and line all the charge holes up on the new cylinder takes some work.... Fitting a spare will require all fitting to work is done on the cylinder in your case- as your hand mates with the original.

The series of queries you have tendered reveal a lack of basic knowledge .... Keep asking

And yes... That $50 cylinder may be worth more than your gun in the long run

What's the bore size anyway? Magnum bullets shot from a long rifle barrel may reveal accuracy issues

u will have to find an original cylinder.......and even that may have to be "worked" by a gunsmith to be in time and work correctly in your firearm........

and yea last time i say just a cylinder for sale it was the .22 lr cylinder and was 50 bucks......and that was 3 years ago at a gunshow......but then again I have not been actively looking........

fanning will wear out ur gun......and can break parts.....and since it's already hard to get parts eventually u will only have a wall hanger .....

so 50-100 for cylinder WHEN u find one......since will take some looking........and then 50-200 bucks for a gunsmith to fit it.....depending on where when who etc......

so YEA cheaper to just buy a herritage rough rider with both cylinders when they are on sale for 175.....

The way I lower the hammer on a single action, is to point it in a safe direction, pull the hammer back so that you know you have control of the hammer, pull the trigger, let the hammer go slightly farther forward from where it is is in the c0cked condition, and release the trigger. If the handgun uses a transfer bar or similar, releasing the trigger will prevent the firearm from firing if you drop the hammer. An then I slowly let the hammer go the rest of the way forward.
