I just got a brand new Winchester Super X3 Patrick Flanigan style, but it does not have the extended magazine tube. I wanted to paint the stock and fore grip and some type of paint job with red and black in it. So if you have tips on how the heck to do this please share them with me. Oh and if you have any paint scheme pictures leave a link in your answer. Thanks!

yes you can....but would anyone in their right mind do it? most people no.

one it wont be very durable. yes a buddy of mine took the old synthetic stock from his 10/22 and made his own custom camo with spray paint and i wont lie it looks pretty neat. but even after he clear coated it a few times it doenst stick very well to the stock.

two if it does stay on the stock for the most part in about 6 years it will look like crap. take the shotguns you see in gun stores. they have camo but they looks like crap so im guessing these guns are back from just when people were figuring out how to paint and camo a gun, they still shoot good but dont look good at all.

and third this is more for if your painted the metal parts too but you may run the chance of messing something up. like fouling the saftey with paint if you dont tape it off super good.

Yes you can paint them. My wife picked up a Ruger .380 LCP today and is sending it off to be painted. There is a guy in town that customizes synthetic stocks and wood grain stocks as well. Our local gun shop has about 8 rifles that he has customized. The guy at the gun shop told us that he has had him do 3 of his rifles and has a 4th one ready to go. One thing he told us is that you have to let the gun sit, untouched and unfired for about 3 weeks, after it takes him a week to get the paint job done. Otherwise, you will risk ruining the paint job.

Have a look at http://hydro-graphics.co.uk/showcase.php for some examples.

I know they are a UK company, but there must be somebody doing similar in the U.S.

Sure but you will regret it. Unless you know how to do it it will turn out like crap.
