Get a rabbit distress call and a coyote howler for long range calling. Then use your rodent squeaker when they are close.

I am a long time Alaskan hunter, trapper, and varmint hunter.

If you have ever stepped on a mouse, or, caught a rabbit in a snare that was alive when you arrived - these are the kinda shreaking noises you want to make with the call. This is the dinner bell for the coyote and fox.

Sound only goes so far. You start by going to funke trap tags and lure online and buying coyote 'call lure'. Powerfull stinky stuff this is - it signals to a coyote that there are other animals in the area eating very very good. It travels far and will bring them in. You get a really tough freezer bag and put two or three drops on a dozen or so cotton balls and keep them in the bag. ALWAYS use gloves or your wife or girlfriend will not touch you for days. You have been warned!

Once you have the coyote sighted - you have a choice of taking the long shot, or, using your squeaky call to bring them in a bit closer.

I have found it important to be in a shooting position and have the cross hairs on the coyote or fox before using the squeaky call when using the call lure - they come at a dead run hoping to get there before another cainine. Once they see you - they head for the hills.

Good luck.

A predator call is usually a sound of "distress", of like a rabbit. So the sounds are very distinct, they vary because the animal is is "distress". So a few squeaks here and there should do the trick.
