can deer spot trip wires automatically?

I was thinking for a survival kit, in case of very serious situations making a trip wire gun trap of some sort , which I imagine are illegal, so I will only design it and buy the parts but not assemble.

unless they are legal, in which case I will build them.

But yeah I was wondering if deer can even hit a trip wire.

This is an extremely bad idea. Any animal could trigger that including humans. Set gun traps are illegal and very deadly. Even if you’re lost and trying to survive such a trip wire trap that sets off a gun could kill someone in the search party looking for you. Its even possible you accidently set it off yourself. A much better idea is a snare that holds the deer which will not kill a human. You can rig a deer snare to hold the deer by its head, antlers or leg.



And yes a deer can hit a trip wire so can humans or any animal

There is actually a kit for sale on www.budk.com I believe it was.



It is a trip wire with some kind of firing pin attached,you use it with a 12 gauge shotgun shell and when it's triggered BOOM! For legal issues it says to be used with blanks only,but when it's survival the law doesn't really matter.



And of course deer can hit a trip wire,just like any other animal.
