What you're referring to as a "clip" is properly called a magazine and what you refer to as a "mag" is really the chamber of the pistol. The shooter activates the magazine release whenever he wants to reload. With US type magazine releases the magazine will often fall out as seen in the movies but with a European magazine release the magazine is usually pulled from the magazine well before another can be inserted.

Oh man. You've got a ways to go in the world of guns, no offense. The magazine release is typically a button on the left side of the gun right behind the bottom of the trigger guard. See an image of it at

Please don't handle a gun until you know how to make sure it's empty, point it in a safe direction, and use the safety. Never point a gun at a person, even if it's unloaded.

Calvin, you need to be some stout fellow to end this type of job along with your bare arms. the backside plate of the magazine will save it from being inserted backwards without guidance from a hammer.

They are called drop free magazines not clips...by touching a button the mag releases and falls for fast reload with the other hand.

You must be watching differnt movies than me. If your firearm is faling apart when you reload you need a better qaulity of handgun.

Now if your reloading an empty handgun you first must press the magazine release button to release the magazine. Most magazines drop free under their own weight from the firearm. You can preform a tactical reload any time after the first round is fired to remove the partaly used magzine and relplace it with a fully loaded one.

The MAGAZINE (not clip, a clip is something different) can drop out like in the movies when you push the mag release button, whether it is a full mag, empty mag, or there is one bullet or whatever.

The mag release is usually right next to your thumb on most handguns, in the bottom of the mag well in many .22's, by your index finger on AR-15 styles, or even next to the mag itself. It really depends on the gun. If you name a specific one, it would help.

There is always a button or a lever in mostly familiar places but usually always different based on different firearms, my Walther has a push down lever on the trigger guard while my Glock has a push button on either side for ambidexterity. My shotgun doesnt have a magazine but the shells can be removed by pumping it, as for my rifle with a removeable mag you have to push in on the bottom of the mag it self to release it. There is always a button on the side of the weapon to release the magazine. You have to press the release button in order to eject the magazine; otherwise it stays in the weapon.

I DONT HAVE A VIDEO BUT I KNOW WHAT U R TALKING ABOUT. WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT THE PERSON HITS THE MAGAZINE CATCH RELASING THE MAG AND THEN GRAVITY DOES THE REST THEREFOR FALLING OUT THE PISTOL. YOU CAN DROP THE MAGAZINE WITH ANY NUMBER OF ROUNDS IN IT. I F YOU COME UPON A GUN DONT TOUCH UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO CLEAR THE ACTION AND POINT IT IN A SAFE DIRECTION.
