Hoping to have better luck now. I'm having trouble determining what model it is, or it's value.
Here goes.
It's stamped "Match Target"
and under that "Lightweight". But it does not say Sporter, HBar, or Competition.
Chambered in 7.62 x 39 and stamped on it as well. Barrel is stamped "C MP 7.62 x 39 1/12"
The carry handle is NOT removable.
Has solid stock (not collapsible), barrel does not have a flash hider.
Do you know what it is? Would it say "HBar" somewhere on the rifle if it was? OH...and what is an "HBar" anyway?
Any idea about the model and value?
I've seen nothing on Gun Broker, GunsAmerica, or in a book on gun values on it's specific model. Everything is either also stamped Match Target Sporter, or Match Target HBar Cometition, etc...nothing seems to be stamped just "Target Match" "Lightweight" like mine?
Serial Number begins with CLH001***. And I find no record of CLH in any serial number search.
HELP!!!!

I build match AR-15's.

HBAR is short for 'heavy barrel'. If you had the original box, it would say this on the outside and be stamped on the barrel. Sounds like you is not - and - you have a lightweight barrel

Barrels came in three flavors, government configuration, lightweight, and heavy. A 'C' on the barrel usually means chrome lined. 'MP' usually means it has a milspec moisture protective finish.

If it has the old A1 style rear sight - adjustable only with the point of a bullet or pen - it is not very desirable. If it has the A2 rear sight - small dial under the sight to change elevation from 50yds to 800yards it is more desirable.

Match Target means it has a cleaned up trigger group and has been set to a crisp 4.5lbs on the dot.

What you need to do is simply write a letter to Colt and ask. It may take a few months - but - you will get a response eventually.

My guess - this was factory built by the Colt Custom Shop to some one's specs a long time ago. And they paid big bucks for it too.

Hope this helps

It surely opens greater doorways. even although, it additionally creates some significant handicaps. once you're familiar with based on your good looks for see you later, you initiate feeling uncertain approximately your self as a individual as quickly as the appearance start to circulate. then you could redefine your self yet returned. it is like discovering a clean language too overdue in existence. purely think of of all the complicated artwork you get to circumvent!
