How can I stop guns from hurting my ears?

Will my ears get used to it? I'm joining the Marines but my ears are so sensative even a 22 remmington pistol makes my ear ring for 2 days.

During training, or any time you go to the range in the military, for that matter, hearing protection is required. Combat, of course, is a different scenario. Believe me, you don't want anything to interfere with your hearing when you need to listen for orders in the middle of a firefight. But, like I said, during training or qualification, earplugs are a must.

Obviously, earplugs or those "Mickey Mouse" headsets are the way to go. Your ears won't "get used to it." Eventually, you'll go deaf, and then maybe it'll stop bothering you. If you don't want this to happen, wear ear protection EVERY time you shoot.



But...if you're joining the Marines, you're going to be in trouble. I don't believe they allow you ear protection, so your ears are always going to bother you. If you go deaf, I doubt they'd let you stay. Have you actually officially been enlisted? Because I'd think during the medical exam, they'd test your ears for sensitivity, and this could keep you out.



Like I said, your ears won't get used to it unless you go deaf.

Sensitive ears - Marines - when they get through yelling in your face your ears will be the last thing you are concerned about.

Once in combat there is no protection for your ears. but like seriously you dont want the interference.
